So, you’re a smoker. You’re definitely not alone, for a start. Millions of people around the world smoke on a daily basis, and deal with the potential issues it might cause in stride.
However, not many of those smokers are diabetics – that’s just another story altogether.
Perhaps you’re a pack-a-day smoker, and have been for a long time. Or, maybe you only choose to puff casually in social situations. Whatever the case may be, the feeling of picking up a cigarette and lighting up isn’t something foreign to you.
You may have had a pre-existing addiction to smoking before you were diagnosed with diabetes. But as you’ll see in a second, the fact of the matter is: being a diabetic will only amplify the negative effects of smoking.
